Promotion to the 1st Section

Following our success at the Midlands Regional championship 2024, not only did it secure us a place in the finals in September at Cheltenham Racecourse, but it also means a promotion to the 1st Section for 2025.

 

Midlands 2nd section champions 2024!

On Saturday 2nd March 2024, the band competed in the midlands regional championships held at Corby Business Academy, under our Musical Director Jonathan Pippen. The piece selected for this year's competition was 'Triptych' by Philip Sparke. This really challenged all bands in our section, but we're pleased to announce that the adjudicators favoured our performance and awarded us 1st place, with one adjudicator saying we were 'in a different league'. We would like to thank our conducting duo John Hudson and Jonathan Pippen for all the hard work they have put in over the last 12 months and we look forward to our preparation for the Finals in Cheltenham.

Leicester Contest Champions!

On Sunday 19th November 2023, the band competed at the Leicester Contest under our resident conductor, John Hudson, performing "Aeronauts" by Goff Richards.

We were awarded 1st Place in the 2nd section to top off a very successful year !
