Latest News
Our annual Christmas Concert on 13 December was a fantastic evening, enjoyed by a wonderful and appreciative audience! We were delighted to welcome Raunds Mayor Richard Levell and Cllr Magdalena Levell, and we’re very grateful for their continued support of local music and community events.

During the concert, we proudly presented our annual awards. Player of the Year was awarded to Russell Booker in recognition of his outstanding contributions on both the concert and contest stage - a hugely deserved honour. Bandsperson of the Year was awarded to Phoebe Snook for her work in her role as Concert Secretary.

With brilliant performances from our soloists and the leadership of Musical Director John Hudson, it was a truly memorable concert. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Lest We Forget: Remembrance Weekend
On Saturday, we were honoured to take part in The Decibelles’ Festival of Remembrance - a special and poignant evening that brought together musicians and singers from across the community. The concert featured performances from ourselves, Sound Sensation Choir, The Sound of Sirens Services Choir, Decibelles Ladies Choir, and St Peter’s School Choir. Our Principal Cornet Alex delivered a beautiful and moving performance of The Last Post, marking one of the most reflective moments of the night.

On Sunday, we proudly performed at the Raunds Remembrance Parade. Helping to lead the procession from the Town Hall to the Memorial Gardens at St Peter’s Church, we joined veterans, families, community groups, and residents. At the memorial, Standards were lowered, wreaths were laid, and a Two Minutes’ Silence was respectfully observed, played beautifully again by Alex. It is always such an honour to take part in this important community event.

Raunds Temperance Band has a long and deeply rooted connection with the World Wars and this history reflects the band’s strong ties to Raunds and its people, through times of peace and conflict alike. The courage, sacrifice, and resilience shown by our past members continue to inspire us today as we play each Remembrance season.
With special thanks to our Bb Bass player John Dolphin for his dedicated research into the band’s Wartime History, which you can read more about here.
